- The 800m long Urangan Pier gives shore-based anglers the opportunity to fi sh deeper waters for
whiting, bream, fl athead, reef fish and pelagics including giant trevally, tuna and mackerel.
- The rock wall at the Urangan Harbour and the roynes and other piers at Hervey Bay, as well as ust off the beach – are also popular with local and isiting anglers.
- The inshore reefs around Big Woody Island nd the Roy Rufus Artifi cial Reef – the largest in
the Southern Hemisphere – are easily accessible fom Urangan Harbour. It is here you will find a
large variety of reef fish and pelagics.
- Take a day fishing trip – from estuary fishing to reef, deep sea and game fishing on one of the many fishing boat tours and charter boats.

- Maryborough, Tiaro and the townships of Maaroom, Boonooroo/Tuan, Poona and Tinnanbar
